Jesus' journey to his death.

Journey Through Holy Week 2021

This week is a very special week for us here at St. Pius X Catholic School. This Holy Week is not intended to simply be a "walk down memory lane" with our heads. Rather, it is an invitation to become engaged in Jesus' journey and to make connections with our own journey in our heart, mind, and soul. How are we to live and to face our challenges as Jesus faced his?

Let us walk through his journey, and ask him to help us with our journey in life.

There are eight events that we recognise leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion.

Station 1 is Palm Sunday and it’s symbols are leaves and a candle that we put onto the cross. You need to explain why we use these symbols

It tells us about the day Jesus arrives in Jerusalem, everybody celebrating in joy well Jesus walks into Jerusalem on a Donkey and people waving leaves around.

Station 2 : WASHING OF THE FEET

Bowl of water and a towel at this station - candle You need to explain why we use these symbols - Leitupo

The 2nd station, is the station that I was in, from my perspective the 2nd station is the washing of the disciples, it was the last meal and the first mass of the Eucharist and of Jesus’ life before the death of his life.

The Bowl of water is the symbol that Jesus used to wash the feet of his disciples.

The towel is the symbol that Jesus used to dry the feet that he washed.

Station 3: LAST SUPPER - THE EUCHARIST

The bread and wine with a candle. You need to explain why we use these symbols

The 3d station last supper after Jesus after Jesus washed his disciples feet. He took all of his disciples to a room in Jerusalem  to have his last meal before he got crucified. What they ate was bread which Jesus said was his body and drank wine which Jesus said it was his blood.

Station 4 : Garden of Gethsemane

Few plants - Jesus praying. - candle You need to explain why we use these symbols

Station 4 after Jesus ate with his disciples he took 3 of his friends James,Peter and John to the garden of Gethsemane where Jesus went to praise God before his death.

Station 5:  The Journey to Calvary

Symbol - Crucifix, candle , Crown of thorn You need to explain why we use these symbols

Station five the next day after Jesus went to praise God he went on a long journey to the cavalry where he got

Crucified. Crucifix is important to let us know that Jesus is with us.

Station 6:  The Journey to Calvary - Simon helped Jesus

Symbol - Crucifix, candle You need to explain why we use these symbols

Station 6 tells us about when Jesus was carrying the cross  on his back and was tired and weak, Simon came out of nowhere and helped Jesus.

Station 7:  The Journey to Calvary - Veronica wiped the face of Jesus. Symbol - cloth, candle

Veronica wiped Jesus' face because her Love and kindness for Jesus so her fear was over comed so she didn’t care that she was gonna get a growling from them.

Station 8 : GOOD FRIDAY - Jesus Died on the Crosssin

Symbol:  Crucifix  You need to explain why we use these symbols - Leitupo

The 8th station from my perspective the station 8 is when Jesus Died on cross right?

When we did the stations of the cross at my church we did a Prayer first and sang Jesus do you remember me when you come into your kingdom, we were told that God and Jesus were always together with us everyday and today.
