MAORI GREETING FOR MAORI LANGUAGE WEEK - Leitupo:
Today Friday the 18th of september, at my school we did a celebration for the Maori Language Week. We did a Maori welcome for the parent's that came on the google meet, to see our dances and Pepeha, only 5 joined but we still sang, danced and say our Maori language out as loud as we could. It was fun seeing our friends together singing and speaking in Maori. Some of the kids stood up and said their pepeha too everyone, that was on the Call it was so wonderful.
here is what I said in the beginning.
MAORI GREETING FOR MAORI LANGUAGE WEEK - Leitupo:
Tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou katoa
Nga mihi nui ki a koutou katoa.
Ki te atua-tēnā koe
Ki a papatuanuku – tēnā koe
Ki te kura – tēnā koe
Ki te hunga mate
Ki te hunga ora
Tēnā koutou katoa
That concludes our performance, We’ll now finish with a karakia and song
